This is the first major retrospective devoted to Alberto Churba, a central figure in Latin American design. At nearly 93 years of age, this exhibition honors his career with a selection of works spanning from the 1960s to his most recent digital creations.

Churba’s practice, connected to international movements yet rooted in a regional identity, redefines design as a cultural language. From furniture and rugs to textiles and glassware, each piece reflects an artistic vision that goes beyond function.

Recognized by institutions such as MoMA, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Smithsonian, and ICSID, Churba projected a distinct sense of modernity from the Global South—not as a periphery, but as an active center of innovation.
